The Legend of Maula Jatt seems to have beaten the lifetime business of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in 17 days of its release in UK. The claim was made by the film’s official account on Instagram. Directed by Bilal Lashari, Maula Jatt is Punjabi-language remake of Yunus Malik’s 1979 cult classic of the same name. It also stars Mahira Khan.
The official Instagram account of the film shared a post which read, “Another day, another achievement! The Legend of Maula Jatt beats the highest grossing Indian movie of 2022, RRR’s lifetime business in just 17 days in UK! #TheLegendOfMaulaJatt in cinemas now, book your tickets today!”
“RRR worldwide: 1144 crs,” a person wrote on the Instagram photo. 127 crores for Maula Jatt “Comparision krna tha to dhang se hi krlete, sirf uk kyun? (at least compare it more effectively, why just UK?)”
RRR, which was directed by SS Rajamouli, has earned approximately $1200 crore globally.
Ram Charan and Jr. NTR play the key roles in India’s most grossing movie. The infamous struggle between vicious gang leader Noori Natt and local heroine Maula Jatt is the central theme of The Legend of Maula Jatt. Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan play Maula Jatt and Mukkho, respectively, in the movie.
Noori Natt is portrayed by Hamza Ali Abbasi, Daro by Humaima Malik, Mooda by Faris Shafi, and Makha by Gohar Rasheed.
Lashari, whose debut feature Waar (2013) shattered box office records in Pakistan, has recreated the tale for a worldwide audience. According to reports, the movie had one of the biggest budgets in Pakistani cinematic history. When discussing the movie, Fawad Khan said: “I feel incredibly honoured and gratified to be playing the legendary Maula Jatt.
The teamwork was a complete joy to work with. I hope the audience will appreciate it as much as I did while it was being made, and I wish us all the best of luck.”
