The Final Season of ‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’ Has Been Revealed in a Thrilling First Look

The final season premieres later this fall on AMC

AMC has dropped a first-look Season 2 video on the official The Walking Dead YouTube page, announcing the premiere date of the final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The show debuted in October of 2020, with a cast comprised entirely of fresh, new stars from the performing profession. The Walking Dead: World Beyond is the second spiritual sequel to the original series. Fear the Walking Dead, the first and mainly popular spin-off, has been running for seven seasons and is still going strong.

The video is slightly over two minutes long and contains a potentially critical scene between three of the show’s main characters. The sound of screaming brakes and footage of a massive truck swerving off the road hint to a car accident before rapidly fading to black. It fades back to images showing zombies happily eating on the carcasses of people who did not survive the crash a beat later. Two guys are seen fleeing through a field towards a tree line, but one is shot in the back and falls on the ground. His partner continues to flee and eludes his pursuers.

The man who got away, Will (Jelani Alladin), is next seen having a serious conversation with his compatriots Felix (Nico Tortorella) and Iris (Aliyah Royale). He tells them a storey about how he discovered a secret that has put his life in jeopardy.

Although the scenario is meant to be catastrophic, the uncomfortably muted acting deflates the scene’s emotional power – which may or may not be related to the show’s cancellation after only two seasons.

The final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond premieres October 3 on AMC. You can check out the Season 2 first-look below. Video source YouTube
