Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, barely made 36–37 crore rupees on Day 5. As a huge movie, the numbers are disappointing.

Shamshera results are in, and they don’t bode well. After underperforming all weekend, the movie’s earnings continued to decline on Day 5. On July 22, the historical drama Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, opened in theatres all throughout India. Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor all appear in the movie. In this action film about a tribe striving for independence from slavery, Ranbir plays two different roles. It also marked the director Karan Malhotra’s return to filmmaking after seven years and the actor’s return to the big screen after almost four years. It was anticipated that Shamshera would do well at the box office based on the advertising and hype around the movie. But it didn’t live up to the expectations.
Shamshera began its journey on Day 1 with an opening of Rs. 10.25 crore. The opening is significantly lower than what the industry anticipated. Shamshera only made Rs 31 crore over its first weekend, and it appears that its lifetime earnings will be in the range of Rs 65–75 crore. The film’s five-day total is somewhere between Rs 36 and Rs 37 crore after Tuesday’s numbers of Rs 2.4 crore nett. According to reports, the first week’s numbers may total approximately Rs 40 crore. Shamshera won’t likely be able to collect more than a few crores after that. On Tuesday, July 26, Shamshera had a 7.53 percent Hindi occupancy overall.
Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh mentioned Shamshera’s international box office numbers. He wrote in his Instagram post, “#Shamshera – #Overseas – *Opening Weekend* Biz… Total: $ 1.250 mn [ 9.98 cr]… #UAE + #GCC: $ 450k #NorthAmerica: $ 397k #Europe: $ 115k Rest Of World: $ 288k (sic).”
