With his new film Jhund, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is back in action. Nagraj Manjule is the director of the film. In addition to Senior Bachchan, the film has Ankush Gedam, Akash Thosar, and Rinku Rajguru in key parts. To stay faithful to the title of his picture, Jhund, the filmmaker does not bring just one such actor, but an entire cast of boys and girls. The film is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the creator of Slum Soccer. In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays a football coach who uses the power of football to give slum youths a new lease on life. Nagpur is the setting for the film.
The film was premiered in theatres, and after seeing it, viewers took to Twitter to express their opinions.
They praised the teamwork between Sr AB and Nagraj Manjule. “#Jhund is great!” said one enthusiast. It shakes you, makes you think, and makes you laugh like no other film in recent memory. I was blown away on so many levels. The outstanding actors (most of whom were newcomers), the fantastic music, Sr AB, and, above all, “Hats off to Nagraj Dada,” another user tweeted. Casting and direction are fantastic. You’re displaying reality on the ground level. Fantastic Film, Actors with Exceptional New Casting @SrBachchan sir, keep up the good work. #JhundMovie is fantastic. Cinematography, direction, acting, and visuals are all fantastic. Total: ₹3.60 cr. #India biz.”
Apart from Jhund, Sr. AB is working on Radhe Shyam, a film starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. He’ll also star alongside Ajay Devgn in the film Maidaan, which will hit theatres on June 3rd.
