Actor Ajay Devgn, who is now gearing up to feature in the Hindi remake of  Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi (2019), visited Kerala’s Sabrimala temple and the photos have surfaced online. Reportedly, the production of the movie has already hit the floor, and Ajay made the pilgrimage amid the shoot.

According to reports, the actor had been strictly following a month-long rituals for being able to get entry to the pilgrimage. While he didn’t share details about it with his industry friends, reports suggest that Devgn was sticking to vegetarian food and was sleeping on a floor mat for an entire month.

A source told that the actor even refrained from cutting his hair or nails and shaving for about a month. The temple’s official website describes the pilgrimage to Sabarimala as the ‘test of senses’. Pilgrims are expected to lead a simple pious life known as ‘Vrutham’ for the successful completion of the pilgrimage.

The 52-year-old wore a customary black ensemble, and carried an irumudi kettu (the traditional bundle a devotee brings to the shrine) on his head. He then trekked the Sabarimala hills from Pamba. The temple is situated 3000 feet above sea level on the hills in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district.

Ajay also took to his social media platform to share a short video of himself dressed in black, and wrote, “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa 🙏.”

Ajay, on Wednesday, took to his social media platforms to write a letter to his 20-year-old-self and spoke about facing ‘brutal rejections’, ‘failing spectacularly’. He wrote, “Dear 20-year-old me, you are making your mark in this new world as an actor. Let me be honest, you are going to face brutal rejections. Shy and conventional, you will try your hardest to fit in but fail spectacularly. People’s criticism and doubts will be hard and it will make you question your dreams. You will fail more than you succeed.”
